great shot! The light you chose is dramatic. I bought a canon 450D this weak, I found photography is much difficult than painting. The photo I take look dull and like shits Hope to learn something from you
Thanks for the compliments! Great camera. I was first going to buy that, but then decided go with the 40D instead. Practice makes perfect I recommend taking loads and loads of shots and trying out different things (macro, scenery, portraits) and modes with your camera. And all of my photos are not as decent as this one here. From about 50 shots I take, I put 5-10 of them here on my gallery. And I usually do a lot of editing (with photoshop) to my shots to make them more colorful and interesting. I think it's the other way around. Painting (or PAINting) is far more harder, and time consuming, than taking photos. And you have done some truly gorgeous paintings
ah,friend, I forget to check out my dashboard, I didn't see the reply until today. 40Dis much powerful! 450D is good enough for me. Right now I only have a 50mm 1.8 lens. I found it hard to use, it's just good for portaits. I usually do scenery shot, so I always take my DC sony w120 in my pocket. It's small, and has a lens about 31-120mm.
Well most of my recent shots have been shot with 50mm lens Aside from portraits it's also fantastic to shoot plants and flowers! 1.8 can give some really cool bokeh effects. It's great with almost all medium sized objects, but sadly that's just about all you can do with it.
